The 2013/2014 Student Volunteering Network Committee:
Manifestos can be found here:
Hello, my name is Jennie Mann; I have worked in Student Community Volunteering for four years. My career started at Nottingham Trent Students’ Union and I now currently run the volunteering service at the University of West London. I am extremely excited to have been elected as Chair for the SVN committee and look forward to representing our members in the year to come, on what looks to be an exciting year for everyone. In the past I have represented student volunteering on a national level; and want to continue to see recognition and support for the great work that we all do.
Network Development Officers:
FE Development Officer:
I began as a student volunteer at my University's radio station; here I found my love of working with students and have worked in the sector pretty much ever since both as a Sabbatical Officer and Staff member in both HE and FE. I am now the manager of Canterbury College Students' Union, one of the best Further Education Unions in the UK. I am a passionate believer in the benefit of extra-curricular activities and volunteering and my aim for the year is to increase FE membership in SVN and share all the great ideas happening in the FE sector.
Communications and Finance Officer:
I'm Tasha Unwin, I am the Communications and Finance officer for SVN. I also currently work at Student Hubs, supporting the student committee in Southampton, this means supporting events, community volunteering projects and delivering training (amongst other things) all with the aim of getting more students volunteering and engaging with various social and environmental issues. Before that I was at the University of Southampton myself, where I studied English and coordinated the Southampton Hub committee.
